CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer with strong experience in FDOT projects to oversee project administration and drive client success.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and collaborate with project teams, providing direction and support.
  • Utilize MS Office and create Excel spreadsheets with formulas to solve work‑related problems independently.
  • Assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assist in all phases of construction projects.
  • Manage projects, interact directly with clients and prospects, and handle client‑facing communication.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with schedules and contract requirements.
  • Review and modify project schedules, specifications, and drawings.
  • Prepare Supplemental Agreements and Work Orders in accordance with FDOT specifications.
  • Actively pursue future work opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; pre‑employment screening required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • ICE is a drug‑free workplace.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Familiarity with Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects; FDOT experience preferred.
  • Must obtain the following certifications within six months of hire:
    • FDOT Advanced MOT
    • CTQP Final Estimates Level II
    • CTQP Quality Control Manager
    • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
  • Without an engineering, engineering technology, or construction management degree, candidates must have eight years of experience in CEI, roadway, or bridge construction, with at least two years in relevant transportation projects.
Licensure Requirements (for CEI Project Engineer)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Florida. If registered in another state, endorsement in Florida must be obtained within six months of receiving the project notice to proceed.
  • With an engineering, engineering technology, or construction management degree, two years of relevant transportation project experience is required; a master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
Physical Demands

This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds, sometimes on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions, including loud noise, high dust and dirt, extreme temperature, visual inspection of construction materials, and varying weather. Site work may involve heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, and heavy equipment hazards.

Expected Hours of Work

ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch. Work schedules may vary according to project demands.
