Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care services to patients ages 4/5 to 21, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Evaluate patients and prescribe medication and treatments as professional license allows.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to license scope.
Order lab and x-ray tests as indicated.
Diagnose health conditions and diseases.
Analyze and interpret test results and contact patients as necessary regarding such results.
Contact pharmacies to authorize prescribed medication for patients.
Educate parents how to care for and what to expect from well and sick children, providing accurate and up to date information.
Consult with physicians when in doubt related to direct patient care matters, especially referrals to specialist.

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
Current APRN license in the state of Florida.
Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an APRN in a primary care setting.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Seeing:
Must be able to see well enough to read emails, documents, reports, etc.
Hearing:
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with other staff, clients, vendors, etc.
Standing/Walking:
Must be able to move about the office, including up and down stairs.
Climbing/stooping/kneeling:
Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up small items, file documents, etc.
Lifting/pulling/pushing:
Minimal lifting required in this position.
Working Conditions:
