• Front of Store Duties
  • Process customer transactions by ringing the sale on a cash register, collecting payment, making change, bagging merchandise, and thanking the customer.
  • Assist customers with shopping needs.
  • Pull racks for transporting clothing from the back room to the sales floor and place clothes on sales floor racks, ensuring similar types and colors are grouped together.
  • Rearrange clothing on racks and items on shelves, remove items from the floor, dust, and pull clothes from racks that are too full to keep the sales floor clean, neat, and properly displayed.
  • Greet donors and receive merchandise, providing donors with an itemized receipt if desired.
  • Report known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Store Manager or other management members.
• Back of Store Duties
  • May remove donations from donor’s car.
  • Break down donations into appropriate bins of like merchandise.
  • Examine shoes, electrical, and mechanical merchandise and other non-clothing items to determine appropriateness for the sales floor, in accordance with established standards.
  • Place salable clothing on hangers to meet established quotas.
  • Hang clothing on racks for transporting to the sales floor, keeping similar types of clothing grouped together.
  • Count and record pieces of clothing hung.
  • Place unsalable clothing in appropriate bins.

• Education:
  
  High School or GED preferred.
• Experience:
  
  No experience required / 1–2 years experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Energy and enthusiasm to help others.

• Ability to perform basic skills on the register and computer.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Ability to do basic math calculations using a calculator.
