Job DescriptionQuality Equipment & Parts is looking for a Grapple Truck Builder / Fabricator to join our production team building custom grapple trucks used in the tree care and logging industries.
This position involves hands‑on fabrication, assembly, and installation work to build grapple trucks from chassis to completion. Technicians install loaders, grapples, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and structural equipment while following QEP build specifications and production standards.
Builders in this role work closely with the Production Foreman and other technicians to ensure every truck is built safely, accurately, and ready for delivery. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality workmanship, and has experience with mechanical systems, fabrication, or heavy equipment installation.

Key Responsibilities- Install grapple truck components including bodies, loaders, grapples, hydraulic plumbing, electrical systems, bumpers, and mounting structures
- Complete chassis modifications, fabrication work, welding, and assembly tasks as assigned
- Follow build specifications, installation instructions, and workflow sequencing provided by the Production Foreman
- Maintain accurate documentation of labor, materials, and work performed in company systems
- Assist with troubleshooting, adjustments, and corrections during the build process
- Support inspection and testing of completed trucks to confirm proper operation prior to delivery
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety standards
- Collaborate with technicians, parts personnel, and supervisors to keep builds on schedule
- Perform post‑delivery modifications, upgrades, or repairs as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations
- Experience in truck equipment installation, fabrication, heavy equipment repair, or custom builds preferred
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Welding and fabrication experience required or strongly preferred depending on experience level
- Ability to read work instructions, build specifications, and diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Detail‑oriented with commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a production team
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation required
- Must provide personal hand tools appropriate for mechanical and installation work
- Ability to work efficiently in a production shop environment
- Willingness to learn QEP build standards, procedures, and documentation practices
- Positive attitude and professional interaction with coworkers and supervisors
