Director of Operations - Commercial Electrical Construction

Gryphon Oakwood is representing a leading commercial electrical contractor seeking a Director of Operations to oversee all operational aspects of its construction division. This role is responsible for project execution, workforce management, financial performance, safety, quality, and client satisfaction across large-scale data center and healthcare projects.

• Lead day-to-day operations for all commercial electrical construction projects
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards
• Oversee manpower planning, workforce utilization, payroll review, and expense approvals
• Drive profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency across the division
• Review job cost reports, contracts, change orders, RFIs, and operational dashboards
• Partner with Pre-Construction to review estimates and ensure effective project handoffs
• Collaborate with Accounting to support contract execution and financial reporting
• Support and mentor project managers, superintendents, and field leadership
• Travel to job sites as needed to ensure safety, productivity, and quality performance
• Assist in resolving client, subcontractor, vendor, and internal operational issues

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 10+ years of electrical construction experience, including 5+ years in leadership
• Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and commercial electrical systems
• Proven success managing large, complex projects
• Strong leadership, financial, and communication skills
