Responsibilities include evaluating, identifying, and providing specialized services to students who meet eligibility requirements for speech-language impairments; leading or participating in the development of individual education plans (IEPs) for students; collaborating with other special education providers and parents to meet speech and language needs of students as identified in IEPs; adhering to federal, state, and local requirements and procedures
Minimum Qualifications- Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech and Language Pathology
- Eligible to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Speech and Language Pathology
- Hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Speech and Language Pathology
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through ASHA or ready to start the Clinical Fellowship through ASHA
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Develop and deliver speech-language therapy plan based on student needs
- Identify speech and language disorders through the evaluation process as identified by district special education procedures
- Complete paperwork, reports, data collection in a timely manner and meet deadlines set by special education department
Develop efficient caseload schedules to meet needs of students - Collaborate with other school staff and parents to integrate speech and language goals in multiple settings
- Work is performed in a standard in-person school setting including special education setting or classroom
- May require travel between schools and district offices
- Regularly involves standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment; stooping or crouching
- Requires the ability to use classroom technology, including projectors, computers, and learning management systems
- Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent-teacher conferences, school events, or professional development
- Must be adaptable to varying student needs and caseload sizes
- May include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs
