Summary

Florence District Three is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a School Bookkeeper. This full-time position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our school's financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, a passion for education, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records for the school, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and process payroll for all school employees, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage budgets, track expenditures, and assist in financial planning and forecasting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate cash flow records.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to school administration and governing bodies as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and financial regulations.
  • Process and track student fees, donations, and fundraising activities.
  • Support the administration in financial decision-making and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to address financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Knowledge of state and federal financial regulations related to education is a plus.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the District.
