Red Oak Family Dental is seeking a Part-time (1-2 days per week) Licensed Dental Assistant to support the Dentist with general dentistry procedures and ensure a safe, efficient and fun patient experience. This role is essential to keeping treatment areas prepared, instruments properly sterilized, and infection control standards consistently met.
Success in this position looks like maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in the operatory, supporting chairside care with professionalism, and following HIPAA and OSHA requirements at every step of the day.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the dentist with general dentistry procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and set up operatory rooms before appointments, ensuring required supplies and instruments are ready.
- Sterilize, disinfect, and properly process instruments according to infection control protocols.
- Maintain infection control throughout the patient visit, including proper handling of contaminated materials.
- Organize and restock op rooms and the lab area to support smooth, on-time appointments.
- Support dental charting and documentation practices in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
- Follow OSHA safety standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and help ensure appropriate supplies are available.
- Communicate clearly with the dental team to coordinate patient flow and assist with chairside needs.
- Assist with daily housekeeping duties (along with the rest of the members of the team)
- Current dental assistant license (as required in MN).
- Experience assisting with general dentistry procedures but new grads are welcome.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, including sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and maintaining patient privacy.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety expectations in a clinical environment.
- Ability to organize and prepare operatory rooms efficiently and consistently.
- Proficiency with common dental office tools and systems (software/tools not specified); ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based setting.
- Competitive hourly pay: $29–$32 per hour.
