Paraprofessional Teaching Assistant
- Spanish Speaking 7 hours/day
Under the direction of a licensed classroom teacher and building administration, the Paraprofessional Teacher's Assistant supports student learning and well-being in an elementary setting by assisting with instruction, small groups, classroom routines, supervision, and communication aligned with district expectations in our Spanish Immersion Program

- Support whole-group and small-group instruction using teacher-provided lesson plans and materials.
- Reinforce skills in reading, writing, math, and/or other elementary content through instructional activities, practice activities, and interventions as assigned.
- Provide individualized assistance to students as directed (e.g., organization, academic engagement, task completion).
- Help prepare, organize, and distribute instructional materials; support classroom displays and learning centers.
- Assist with basic record‑keeping as assigned (e.g., participation logs, progress notes, checklists).
- Support positive classroom culture by reinforcing expectations and routines.
- Supervise students in classrooms, at specialists and common areas (arrival/dismissal, hallway transitions, recess, lunch, field trips).
- Follow district health, safety, and emergency procedures; support a safe environment for all students.
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families as appropriate to the role.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and personnel information.
- Participate in required training and professional learning.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to support small‑group instruction and follow teacher direction with fidelity.
- Strong communication skills; positive, student‑centered mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and support inclusion.
- Demonstrated regular in‑person attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Experience providing instructional support to elementary students such as small group instruction support, academic intervention, literacy and/or math instructional assistance.
- Successful completion of or commitment to completion of coursework and certification in the science of reading.
- Demonstrated ability to support teacher‑designed instruction in a collaborative classroom setting.
- A clear and demonstrated commitment to the District mission, which is to ensure high quality, innovative, challenging education where all learners are valued and respected.

- Advancing the District's mission and values through careful attention to the key issues of learning, environment, and resources.
- Bachelor's degree required
Hours/day: 7 hours/day
Pay:
Current rate of para pay starting at $23.00/hour
