Job Purpose SummaryThe Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the company, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting timely financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple accounting functions in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments
- Manage accounts receivable activities, customer billing, cash application, and collections
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on delinquent accounts
- Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies
- Support preparation of financial reports and schedules
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business operations
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Experience in SaaS, technology, logistics, or transportation industries
- Knowledge of month‑end close procedures
- Experience working in a growing or fast‑paced environment
