Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Lake Forest, California. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, and confident handling invoice activity with accuracy and consistency. The position will play an important part in maintaining timely payments, reviewing documentation, and keeping accounts payable records current and well managed.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and assign the correct accounting codes before processing.

- Enter payable transactions accurately into the accounting system and maintain complete records for each invoice.

- Prepare and support scheduled payment cycles, including check runs, while helping ensure vendors are paid on time.

- Reconcile invoice information against purchase orders, receipts, or internal approvals to resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to answer payment questions and clarify billing issues when needed.

- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow established procedures to keep accounts payable activities organized and current.

- Assist with document filing, audit support, and reporting tasks related to accounts payable operations. Requirements - Prior experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.

- Experience assisting with check runs and maintaining accurate payable records.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in financial documents.

- Comfortable using accounting software and standard office applications for data entry and tracking.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with vendors and internal departments.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a structured environment.
