Music Teacher

Symphony 9 School is a music-focused school based in Lake Forest, California, dedicated to providing high-quality music education to learners of various ages and skill levels. Applicants will join a community that is passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Role Description

We're looking for educators who are passionate about teaching and committed to student growth.

Performance Metrics

• Maintain excellent student retention, quality, and attendance.
• Encourage participation in recitals, ensembles, group classes, and music exams.
• Build a positive, engaging learning environment for students and families.

Teaching Qualifications

• Comfortable teaching children as young as 5 years old .
• Ability to teach beginner through intermediate students.
• Support students in performance opportunities and exam preparation (ABRSM/RCM preferred).

Music Instructors

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Violin
• Guitar
• Voice
• Ensemble Coaching
• Music Theory

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in Music and Music Theory, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners at different levels.
• Demonstrated skills in Music Performance and Piano, including the ability to model proper technique and musical expression.
• Background in Music Education, with experience designing lesson plans, assessments, and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Ability to create an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
• Effective communication and classroom management skills, with a professional and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in music, ideally in a private school, studio, or community program setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
• Availability to work part-time on-site in Lake Forest, CA, including possible afternoons, evenings, or weekends based on scheduling needs.
