What are we looking for? The Engineer position is responsible for providing engineering expertise to evaluate conformance of inverters, energy storage systems, solar / photovoltaic panels, solar racking and tracking systems to industry standards, creating evaluation reports and test plans, conducting and/or witnessing testing, resolving technical and/or administrative issues and providing Intertek customers with superior customer service. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons. In addition to competitive compensation packages, Intertek employees are eligible for a variety of benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, medical plan options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, and more.

What

You’ll Do
  • Conduct evaluations of equipment as required, to determine compliance with applicable standard(s)
  • Plan, coordinate and execute project work and keep the client informed
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions
  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing within the scope of the project
  • Set up and operate equipment under test (EUT)
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, etc.
  • Perform utility interactive testing such as: response to abnormal voltage, response to abnormal frequency, unintentional islanding, harmonic distortion, interconnection integrity, etc.
  • Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to: power analyzer, oscilloscope, load banks, EMI equipment, thermocouples and data loggers, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multimeter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, and articulated…
