ABOUT EXOANALYTIC SOLUTIONS

Exo Analytic Solutions is a defense technology company developing cutting‑edge sensor signal processing, algorithms, modeling, simulation, and analytics tools to support mission‑critical defense and space systems. Our software and sensor technologies enhance the missile and space defense domains and enable faster, data‑driven decision‑making for national defense.

As an employee‑owned company, we combine deep technical expertise with a culture of innovation, autonomy, and shared success. Our engineers work at solving problems of global importance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Exo Analytic Solutions is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – Space & Missile Defense Tracking to join our growing team supporting advanced space and missile defense missions. This role focuses on the development, integration, and testing of next‑generation object tracking algorithms, multi‑sensor fusion architectures, and state estimation solutions for complex operational environments.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in multi‑target/multi‑sensor tracking, sensor signal processing, and data association techniques, with experience applying these methods to real‑world aerospace or defense systems. This engineer will work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and algorithm design through integration, verification, and operational deployment.

This position is well suited for engineers who enjoy solving challenging tracking problems involving clutter, maneuvering targets, contested sensing environments, and real‑time mission constraints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform systems engineering and algorithm development tasks supporting space and missile defense tracking missions
  • Design and implement advanced object tracking and state estimation algorithms, including track initiation, maintenance, correlation, and termination
  • Develop and evaluate multi‑target tracking and multi‑sensor fusion approaches for EO/IR, RF, or hybrid sensor architectures
  • Apply and refine data association techniques, such as:
    • Nearest neighbor and probabilistic association
    • Joint Probabilistic Data Association (JPDA)
    • Multiple Hypothesis Tracking (MHT)
    • Track‑to‑track fusion methods
  • Develop signal processing algorithms supporting detection, feature extraction, and measurement generation from sensor data
  • Support algorithm integration with guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) and fire‑control–relevant tracking architectures
  • Conduct performance analysis, trade studies, and simulation‑based assessments of tracking robustness under challenging conditions (maneuvering targets, clutter, countermeasures, degraded sensing)
  • Collaborate with software, systems, and test teams to transition algorithms from prototype to operational implementation
  • Develop and execute modeling, simulation, and test workflows, including Monte Carlo analysis, recorded sensor playback, and hardware‑in‑the-loop environments
  • Support requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification planning for tracking algorithm performance
  • Prepare technical documentation and briefings for design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and customer engagements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing signal processing algorithms for EO/IR or similar sensing modalities.
  • Solid understanding of EO/IR sensor phenomenology, including noise characteristics, resolution limits, and environmental effects.
  • Hands‑on experience developing algorithms for sensor tracking, including target detection, track initiation, maintenance, and termination.
  • Strong theoretical and practical experience with state estimation techniques,…
