The Credit Policy Manager reports to the Vice President of Credit Policy and serves as a dedicated execution resource for the Credit Policy Department, supporting the company’s growth, product development, and evolving credit needs. This role is responsible for executing and maintaining credit policies, matrices, and guidelines across Agency and Non-Agency products and ensuring accurate, timely communication of credit guidance across the organization, with independent ownership and execution.
The Credit Policy Manager supports review, enhancement, and maintenance of existing credit policies, matrices, and guidelines across multiple products and initiatives prioritized by Credit Policy leadership.
The role also supports execution of Credit Policy projects and initiatives as directed by the Chief Credit Officer and/or VP of Credit Policy.
Key Responsibilities Credit Policy Execution- Execute review, updating, and maintenance of credit policies, matrices, and guidelines across Agency and Non-Agency products.
- Draft policy updates under direction of Credit Policy leadership.
- Support clarification needs to promote consistent application of credit guidance across the organization.
- Maintain version control, effective dating, and documentation integrity of credit policy materials.
- Support organization, tracking, and progression of Credit Policy initiatives to ensure timely execution and visibility.
- Identify and escape material policy questions or risks to Credit Policy leadership as appropriate.
- Monitor, interpret, and summarize Agency and Non-Agency policy updates.
- Draft internal credit guidance reflecting Agency and Non-Agency changes for review and approval.
- Support timely implementation and company wide communication of credit policy updates.
- Develop and maintain clarifications and reference materials to support consistent application of credit guidance.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Agency and Non-Agency products;
Non-QM experience preferred.
- Support Credit Policy participation in new product development and product changes from initiation through implementation.
- Coordinate Credit Policy deliverables to support product readiness prior to launch.
- Partner cross-functionally to gather requirements and track approvals.
- Track Credit Policy deliverables and milestones to support timely product readiness.
- Ensure published credit policies, matrices, and guidelines are accurate, current, and aligned with approved Credit Policy.
- Review and validate credit content prior to and after publication on internal platforms and external websites.
- Support readiness of credit policies, matrices, and guidelines for centralized access and future intranet publication.
- 3–6+ years of mortgage lending experience with exposure to credit policy, underwriting, credit risk, and/or product development.
- Strong working knowledge of Agency and Non-QM lending guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives independently.
- Strong written communication skills with experience drafting clear credit guidance.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Encompass or similar LOS platforms.
