We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on CNC Mill Programmer/Machinist to support Mechanical R&D builds for advanced ophthalmic instrumentation. This role focuses on prototype and low-volume precision parts, working closely with engineering on real-time design iterations.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Program, set up, and operate CNC mills (Okuma preferred) for prototype development

+ Create and modify programs using Surfcam or Mastercam (including surfacing)

+ Produce first article/first piece parts and perform inspections; adjust programs as needed

+ Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T to achieve tight tolerances (±.002)

+ Collaborate directly with engineers to implement design changes on the fly

+ Perform full machine setups and ensure quality output with minimal supervision

** Qualifications*
* + 10-15 years of CNC machining experience (prototype/R&D environment preferred)

+ 10+ years of Surfcam or Mastercam experience

+ Strong expertise in programming, setup, and machining operations

+ Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and plastics

+ Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge

+ Proven ability to work independently with high attention to detail

+ Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
