Position

Description

The Material Handler supports Applied Medical’s manufacturing and warehouse operations by ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This role is essential to maintaining production flow, inventory accuracy, and traceability of medical device components. The Material Handler works collaboratively within a team environment while upholding Applied Medical’s standards for quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform material handling and production support activities in production.
  • Count, pick and process transfer orders to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials between departments.
  • Prepare materials for use in production process by measuring, weighing as required.
  • Distribute raw materials and semi‑finished goods to designated areas throughout Applied Medical in support of daily production needs.
  • Maintain strict part and lot number segregation to ensure full traceability and compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Conduct bin audits as directed by the Team Leader to support inventory accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by offering suggestions for workflow improvements and supporting a cohesive, collaborative workplace.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Accurate and timely material movement that supports production schedules without delays or shortages.
  • Strong attention to detail demonstrated through precise picking, counting, labeling, and traceability practices.
  • Reliable inventory accuracy, supported through consistent cycle counts and bin audits.
  • Effective teamwork and communication, contributing to a supportive, solutions‑oriented work environment.
  • Commitment to quality and safety, following all operational and handling procedures with consistency.
Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to work onsite either in Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM) or Lake Forest, CA, based on business needs
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with team members, and comprehend work instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform continuous hands‑on tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, following proper safety and ergonomic practices.
  • Self‑directed work style, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, supporting effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Hands‑on machine operation background.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics, preferably within a fast‑paced production or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including basic navigation and material‑transaction functions.
  • Prior forklift operating experience in a warehouse setting, with certification or training.
  • Experience using RF scanners and working with general computer applications to support inventory accuracy and material movement.
