3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor Lake Forest, California

Job

Seeking a Strong Leader who is a people person, good personality, that is able to lead from the front, and maintain and build the team. Need to have technical understanding and hands on ability, but this role will be less of a hands on role more of a role that ensures 3rd shift stays on task, completes PM's, work orders, and maintains production.

Sunday-Thursday schedule 10PM-630AM, weekend work is rare, but must be flexible if needed. This position will train on the day shift with the maintenance manager and Sr. supervisor for the first 30-60 days. Willing to look at strong maintenance leads, who are excellent communicators, and lead by example. Food/beverage production/packaging experience required.

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

3rd shift maintenance supervisor will oversee 3-4 mechanics on the 3rd shift, supervising maintenance personnel, equipment repair, and facility services for the manufacturing facility. This position assists the Maintenance Manager in developing and implementing department goals, timelines, PM programs, and safety and quality programs as it relates to equipment and production efficiency. In this role, you will have the autonomy to shape a high-performing team, make meaningful decisions that impact production efficiency and you will be a visible leader whose contributions are recognized across the organization.

Duties
  • Supervise the personnel, the facility and the equipment in a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) environment with multiple buildings
  • Adhere to and monitor department budget and assist in the selection of capital expenditures to ensure a cost-efficient operation.
  • Maintain, monitor and recommend adequate spare parts to support operations.
  • Ensure staff is trained correctly and proficient in the technical aspects of their positions.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Support and maintain a PM/WO (Preventative Maintenance/Work Order) program for both facilities and equipment in multi-site environment.
  • Establish schedules and distribute workload for maximum results.
  • Develop direct reports, through hands on coaching and training.
  • Maintain open communication with direct reports on work and results across all shifts.
  • Communicate the company/department goals so shift clearly understands.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including any cGMP documents.
  • Communicate with Production, Quality, and Planning groups daily, making sure production schedules are met or exceeded.
  • Support company and department’s long-term growth and success.
  • Assist the Validation Engineer with the implementation of IQ/OQ (Installation Qualification/Operation Qualification) for equipment installation.
  • Perform mid-year and year-end performance evaluations for direct reports on the 3rd shift
  • Administer and provide Corrective Action to direct reports as required by company policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting experience/mechanical & electrical proficiency

  • Proven experience leading teams and developing personnel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 30lbs
Experience
  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a lead or Supervisor role in food packaging.
  • Technical understanding/hands on experience.
  • Team builder/leadership experience
Education
  • Technical degree or 7+ years maintenance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in an Engineering discipline.
