This position supports the assembly, soldering, testing, and rework of electro-mechanical products in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with IPC soldering standards, functional testing, and interpreting engineering documentation while maintaining a commitment to quality and safety. You will be part of a team that is manufacturing In-Flight Entertainment products for leading airlines across the world.
Key Responsibilities- Builds Level III assemblies utilizing engineering and manufacturing documentation.
- Performs soldering per IPC 610 requirements and rework per IPC-7711/7721.
- Conducts a variety of operations, including rework, requiring an understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled.
- Assembles and disassembles mechanical and electrical assemblies with a variety of hand tools.
- Performs basic functional tests including dielectric, bonding, and continuity tests.
- Works with Engineering to assemble prototype assemblies from written instructions.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Reads, understands, and follows written or verbal instructions.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A minimum of three years of assembly and test experience.
- Valid certification for soldering per IPC standards (IPC 610) and rework (IPC-7711/7721).
- Experience with hand tools, calibrated equipment (i.e., torque driver, wrenches), jigs, and tooling fixtures.
- Proficient computer skills to access released drawings and manage documents.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to stand and walk for an extended period.
- Repetitive hand and feet movement is required in the use of manual and electric tools.
- Ability to tighten a variety of screws, nuts, fittings, and other fasteners.
- Ability to grip, pinch, grasp, bend, crouch, kneel, and twist to operate various tools and machines for an extended period.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and eyesight for ensuring accuracy.
