Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $65,900.00 to $.

Position Details

The Analyst, Storage Engineering partners with multiple business functions to gather inputs, criteria, and desired outcomes to deliver analytics and recommendations used during DC construction, expansion of existing sites, and improvements to existing buildings. You will work collaboratively with Network Strategy, DC and Branch Operations, and Inventory Management to ensure analytics from all teams guide decisions that support the design and build of the Grainger distribution network.

You will report to the Manager, Storage Engineering Design & Optimization.

This position requires up to 75% travel.

This is a hybrid position that is onsite 3 days a week in Lake Forest when not travelling.

You Will

  • Provide analytical support to the Supply Chain and Operations organizations for maximizing storage and throughput capacity within our Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses, and Branches.
  • Include visual and data observations in the analysis and involve stakeholder input to ensure information is captured appropriately.
  • Identify and resolve constraints within physical and systematic processes.
  • Ensure timely delivery of analysis based on pre-determined time frames.
  • Demonstrate analytical and decision-making capabilities proactively and consistently, seeking out information to validate assumptions.
  • Support planning, project, and operational activities through data assembly and analysis for current and future states to support growth and expansion.
  • Communicate and partner with multiple levels of leaders within Operations and Supply Chain; provide benchmarking and best-practice learnings from other projects; identify opportunities for improvement to optimize storage and throughput; provide data and recommendations used by leadership for cross-functional presentations; prepare data for leadership reviews for business partners at all levels.
  • Provide analytical support for planning, project management, and operational activities.
  • Provide recommendations to Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses, and Branches with steps to improve product flows and storage space utilization.
