Data Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst
About the Role
Analyze and recommend improvements to storage capacity and throughput across Grainger distribution centers, bulk warehouses, and branches.
Key Responsibilities- Provide analytical support to supply chain and operations organizations for maximizing storage and throughput capacity.
- Analyze data and visual observations and collaborate with stakeholders to capture information appropriately.
- Identify and resolve constraints within physical and systematic processes.
- Deliver analysis within pre‑determined time frames and demonstrate analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
- Support planning, project, and operational activities, including assembling and analyzing current and future state data to support growth and expansion.
- Communicate and partner with leaders across operations and supply chain functions.
- Provide benchmarking, best‑practice learnings, and recommendations that improve product flows and storage space utilization.
- Develop the narrative (“story”) around data to present to business partners at all levels.
- Work independently and cross‑functionally with vendors and internal teams to support new building, expansion, and racking reconfiguration efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of related analytics experience.
- Project‑management skills and ability to manage resources, budgets, and timelines.
- Creative problem‑solving for small to medium complex projects.
- Proficiency in Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience developing and leading training sessions for tactical and strategic topics.
- Up to 75 % travel across the United States, Canada, and Mexico; additional international travel as needed.
Hybrid: onsite 3 days a week in Lake Forest, IL when not traveling. Requires up to 75 % travel.

Compensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $65,900.00 to $. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) contribution, employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, maternity support, and more.
