Location: Lake Forest – onsite 4 days, remote 1 day – local candidates only
Period: 04/06/2026 to 04/05/2027 – possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours – hours over 40 will be paid at time and a half
Rate: $20-25/hour

Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Government Contracts Analyst to support end-to-end contract lifecycle execution, financial oversight, and data-driven performance management across government and regulated contracts.
This role will serve as a key partner to Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure contract integrity, regulatory compliance, and optimized financial and operational performance. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates advanced Excel capabilities, and brings strong experience in contract analytics, spend management, and cross-functional coordination.
This position plays a critical role in enhancing transparency, mitigating risk, and driving strategic execution across government contract portfolios.
Key ResponsibilitiesContract Lifecycle & Compliance
- Support the full contract lifecycle from inception through closeout, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and customer requirements.
- Ensure adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist in development, review, and analysis of acquisition and procurement documentation, including amendments, renewals, and pricing structures.
- Conduct pre-award and post-award compliance reviews to validate contract performance.
- Identify contractual and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Financial & Spend Management
- Monitor and analyze spend against contract commitments, identifying variances, usage trends, and forecasting impacts.
- Validate financial explanations for changes in actuals versus prior year and budget.
- Ensure contract deliverables accurately support billing, usage reconciliation, and financial reporting requirements.
- Participate in deal structuring, commercial reviews, and negotiation preparation.
Data, Inventory & Reporting
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based dashboards and reporting tools to track contract usage, ordering patterns, pricing compliance, and product availability.
- Perform complex data analysis to identify root causes, ordering trends, pricing discrepancies, and operational risks.
- Review procurement and supply chain transactions, including requisitions and purchase orders, to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Support automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and data transparency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as liaison between Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations, performance expectations, and compliance standards.
- Lead portions of multi-project initiatives or work streams to ensure timely execution and delivery excellence.
- Prepare executive-ready reports and presentations summarizing contract performance, risks, and financial impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Forensic Accounting, Project Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience in contract analysis, financial due diligence, procurement, or program management within a regulated environment.
- Experience supporting government, federal, education, or healthcare contracts.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, modeling, automation).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and contractual risks.
- Strong presentation skills and experience developing executive-level reporting.
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain analytics.
- Experience supporting medium-complexity procurement documentation and negotiations.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies across financial, contractual, and operational datasets.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong critical reasoning and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Communication: Skilled at translating complex financial and contractual data into clear business insights.
