Kindergarten Teacher

Lake Forest School District 67 is seeking a full-time kindergarten teacher at Everett Elementary School for the  school year. The classroom teacher is responsible for helping students learn their subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults. Salary:

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Licensure (required and preferred) A Bachelor's Degree A current State of Illinois teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) The classroom teacher must possess the ability to work tactfully and effectively with the students, teachers, administrators, other employees of the school district, and the public in accomplishing the purpose of this position. He/she must display evidence of an educational philosophy in agreement with that of the school and district.

He/she should display an understanding of those theories of learning most closely associated with the district's present educational program. He/she must display an ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Essential Functions:

Planning and Preparation Plan and teach lessons that are aligned with state and/or national standards Use student data to adapt lessons for different learning needs Set clear learning goals and gather the necessary materials Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students Classroom Environment Create a positive and respectful classroom where students feel safe and motivated Set clear expectations for behavior and keep the classroom organized Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Instruction Use a variety of teaching methods to keep students engaged Actively involve students in learning through discussions and activities Assess student progress regularly adjust lessons as needed Incorporate technology to enhance learning Professional Responsibilities Reflect on teaching practices and look for ways to improve Work with colleagues and administrators to support student success Communicate regularly with students and families Participate in professional development to grow as a teacher Complies with applicable board/administration policies/regulations Physical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be mobile and transport instructional materials from one setting to another within the building/ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
