Aboutthe Role
We're seeking an experienced HR professional to lead all US HR functions for our growing IT company, supporting 81 employees across multiple US states. This role combines strategic HR leadership with hands‑on operations within our international matrix organization, serving as the vital link between our Lake Forest office, remote US workforce, and global HR teams.
What You’ll DoInternational HR Collaboration & Matrix Leadership- Operate effectively within our matrix structure, balancing local HR responsibilities with international HR requirements
- Build close, trust‑based partnerships with international HR Business Partners across regions and business units
- Coordinate with functional international HR owners (Talent Acquisition, C&B, L&D) ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and decision paths
- Act as central interface between local management, international HRBPs, and global HR functions with transparent, timely communication
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and back filling in alignment with international HR guidelines
- Ensure consistent implementation of international HR standards and policies while meeting local legal/organizational requirements
- Drive local execution of international HR initiatives and projects, ensuring sustainable implementation
- Align people strategies across local and international stakeholders
- Lead employee engagement, culture initiatives, and talent development programs
- Implement and optimize SAP and UKG HRIS systems
- Manage HR projects from planning through execution
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Administer benefits programs, open enrollment, COBRA, and claims resolution
- Handle workers' compensation claims and workplace safety compliance
- Conduct exit interviews and resolve employee relations issues
- Ensure multi‑state compliance (especially California) with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC
- Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and employment verifications
- Oversee Lake Forest office operations, facilities, and supplies
- Serve as the bridge between employees and management at all levels
- Manage company wide communications and announcements
- Ensure safe, productive, and engaging work environment
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
- 5-7 years progressive HR experience with proven matrix organization expertise
- Demonstrated success collaborating with international/cross‑functional HR teams
- Experience with UKG/HRIS systems; SAP knowledge strongly preferred
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of multi‑state employment law, especially California
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and influence across organizational boundaries
- Excellent cross‑cultural communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self‑motivated with sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail
- Experience in IT/technology industry or international companies
- Change management and international project implementation experience
- Background working across time zones and global teams
