Job Description & How to Apply Below

Built on Trust. Driven by Protection.

DOT Security exists because businesses deserve a cybersecurity partner they can trust. As cyber threats became more sophisticated and disruptive, organizations needed more than technology; they needed experts who could help protect their people, operations, and livelihoods. Born from Impact Networking during a time when that need was rapidly growing, DOT Security was created to deliver a more proactive, personalized approach to cybersecurity.

What makes DOT special is that we’ve never lost sight of why we started. We exist to help organizations operate with confidence, while investing in talented people who are passionate about solving complex challenges and protecting what matters most. We’ve built something special, but we’re far from finished. The people who join DOT today will help define what comes next.

Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Engineer is an essential role at DOT Security, enabling and supporting our security solutions within client environments. The work is split between projects and support tickets. This role is ideal for an IT engineer or administrator looking to move into cybersecurity, or for a cybersecurity engineer looking for a position with a growing company.

Responsibilities
  • Onboarding, renewal, and change order projects — Own the technical implementation of security solutions within client environments. Projects are client-facing and require the ability to work well with varied client IT staff and third-party IT providers.

  • Solution support — Work troubleshooting and administrative tickets for our security solutions, maintaining the health of our fleet of endpoint agents, connectors, log forwarders, NDR devices, and network scanners.

  • Consultative advisement — Work with internal teams to answer questions about our technology and provide guidance for varied and unique scenarios.

  • Process development and documentation — Write and maintain the implementation procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles that make deployments repeatable, and improve existing processes as our tooling changes.

  • Time tracking — Record time daily in our PSA system. Accurate, same-day time entry is a core expectation of this role — it drives client billing, project health, and capacity planning, and is reviewed as part of performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Working knowledge of endpoint, server, cloud, and networking concepts, with the ability to visualize and understand clients’ IT environments.

  • Experience administering endpoints, servers, and infrastructure at scale, including working knowledge of Power Shell.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems under time pressure.

  • Knowledge of IT asset security across applications, data, devices, networks, and users, including monitoring and hardening practices.

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication, including reports, plans, and briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapt where data is incomplete or no precedent exists, and operate ethically and with integrity.

  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

Preferred qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in the managed services industry delivering IT and cybersecurity projects and supporting solutions.

  • Experience with EDR, NDR, XDR, SIEM, DNS filtering, email filtering, and other cybersecurity technologies.

  • Experience with PSA, ticketing, and time-tracking systems.

  • Working knowledge of CIS Controls, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and OWASP.

  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CCNA.

  • Relevant college degree.

  • Ability to pass a Public Trust background check (limited requirement).
