Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

The schedule for this position will be Sunday‑Thursday, 10:30 PM‑7:00 AM.
Facilities Engineer II Responsibilities- Operate and assist in maintaining and repairing all power plant equipment with minor supervision. Monitor other engineering systems and take emergency actions as necessary.
- Operate high‑pressure boilers and related equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water heating system, water heating system, generators, electrical switch gear, and energy management system.
- Perform safety checks on plant equipment. Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Clean and paint equipment, piping, and associated accessories in power plant and mechanical rooms.
- Chemically analyze boiler, chiller, cooling tower and all closed‑loop systems.
- Perform chemical analysis tests and add the correct amount of chemicals to maintain prescribed balances.
- Change and dispose of chemical drums properly using safety equipment while working with chemicals. Understand the importance of chemical balance in all systems.
- Respond to plant emergencies and know location of firefighting equipment.
- Respond to service requests and perform problem assessment, troubleshooting, correction, and documentation.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections in accordance with organizational and regulatory protocols, policies, and standards.
- Operate facility equipment and systems on a routine and as‑needed basis in a safe and efficient manner.
- May assist contractors/vendors with repairs, maintenance, and construction.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2‑3 years relevant building maintenance experience
- Technical training in maintenance field; HVAC/R trade school certification or equivalent
- Licensed as a Stationary Engineer or the ability to obtain within one year of hire
- Valid driver’s license (must provide Driving Abstract)
- Lift/carry up to 70 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
- Hospital or military experience
- One year training in Boiler Maintenance
- Current universal refrigerant certification
