Salary Range: $34.50 – $55.20 per hour (placement based on experience and internal equity). For union positions placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.
Location:
- Lake Forest hospital campus, OBGYN; travel to Glenview/Grayslake clinics.
Position Type:
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday; hours vary based on clinic needs. - Candidate must be flexible with hours.
- Direct patient care provided by support personnel for a specific shift and identify changes in patient physiological condition.
- Communicate patient status to multidisciplinary team members.
- Communicate directly with patient and family about nursing care.
- Provide clinical interventions to meet patient needs.
- Document the nursing process and assimilate information from multiple sources to implement appropriate action plans.
- Assure safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff.
- Demonstrate clinical competence and provide direct patient care.
- Direct care provided by support personnel for a special shift.
- Perform ongoing assessment of assigned patients and their significant others’ biopsychosocial and learning needs.
- Contribute to the plan of care in coordination with patient care coordinator as appropriate.
- Implement appropriate actions to respond to the needs of patients and significant others.
- Monitor and document patient responses to therapeutic interventions and progress toward outcomes.
- Demonstrate cost‑effective approach to patient care in terms of equipment, supplies, and all other resources.
- Follow established policies, procedures, and standards of care in all areas of practice.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Exemplify a professional image in appearance, manner, and presentation.
- Advocate for patients and their significant others, co‑workers, the community, and the nursing profession.
- Consistently demonstrate accountability.
- Champion collaborative practice with co‑workers and other disciplines and departments.
- Consistently demonstrate compassion to internal and external customers.
- Serve as a dynamic representative of the nursing profession in internal and external forums.
- Integrate theoretical knowledge base and clinical expertise in decision making.
- Assume responsibility for meeting mandatory requirements.
- Assume responsibility for personal development plan and education related to clinical specialty area.
- Follow research protocols for assigned patients.
- Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligible in the State of Illinois.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.
- One year of experience.
