- Perform comprehensive pre‑procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
- Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post‑procedure care
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures
- Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling
- Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary
- Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
- Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
- One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- PALS or ENPC certifications
- ACLS certification
- RCIS/RCES certification
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities – able to remain stationary, move equipment 50–100 lbs, push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills – professional and positive attitude with diverse personnel
- Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, assistance during procedures with equipment
- Mental requirements – cope with public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, work with minimal supervision, handle irregular schedules
