The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 per hour. Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

This is a full‑time, salaried position (40 hours per week) in Cardiac Surgery at Lake Forest Hospital, scheduled Monday through Friday.

The Nurse Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment requiring exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. The position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; you will use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving patient care issues, and be responsible for initiating and organizing patient education for the population served by this unit.

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Report deficiencies to supervisor immediately and assist in rectifying them as requested. Assume responsibility for and supervision of the appropriate care of medical equipment.
• Provide pre‑attending care for patients. Perform a comprehensive assessment of the chief complaint and patient needs utilizing the nursing process. Seek solutions and offer opinions to physicians and other health‑care providers. Document all nursing assessments in the patient’s medical record. Ensure that all documentation is clear, complete and legible. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Understand and uphold the protocols and procedures for release of patient/medical information.
• Perform routine nursing duties and demonstrate clinical competency.
