Overview
Amity Die and Stamping is seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Wire EDM Technician to build and maintain a wide range of components for progressive, compound, and secondary dies. The Wire EDM Technician will prioritize and manage the workload of existing jobs in the tooling area. There is 1st shift availability with a minimum of 40-50 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Tool Room Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Originating and implementing inspection procedures and plans
- Managing PPAPs, FAIs, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, GR&R, and FEMA as part of APQP and NPI processes
- Directing customer liaison on quality matters involving Amity Die and Stamping (ADS)
- Receiving direct communications relating to quality problems from customer, purchasing, engineering, quality, customer service and sales personnel
- Assisting Director of Quality in addressing customer complaints, QR’s, CARs, and 8D reports within specified time frames
- Reviewing and initiating RMA, MR’s and Nonconformance Reports via Shoptech E2
- Implementing and ensuring proper corrective action
- Implementing and ensuring proper material dispositions and initiating material review actions as necessary
- Requesting Design and Manufacturing Engineering assistance when necessary
- Assuring incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality
- Creating and handling Non-Conformance Reports, disposition of nonconforming materials/products/parts, and recording cost of poor quality via Shoptech E2
- Initiating Quality Warnings/Alerts, Product Deviations or Waivers; following up with customers for acceptance/approval
- Initiating required layouts and overseeing inspection activities
- Administering follow-up on historical problems and notifying management of critical problem areas
- Interfacing with ADS suppliers on quality problems and collaborating with the supply chain team to resolve supplier-related issues
- Initiating CARs and 8D reports to suppliers and ensuring completion
- Surveying potential suppliers for quality capability
- Participating in ADS customer and auditor visitations; ISO lead Auditor experience is required
- Experience with CMM and/or Vision measuring systems (Micro-Vu); programming/operating Keyence IM-7000 series Digital Inspection (InSpec Metrology Software)
- High School Diploma and TMA certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of Tool and Die Wire EDM experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and operation of all tool room equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions per ISO requirements
- Good written and verbal skills in English;
Spanish bilingual is a plus - Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary
- Ability to work as a team member and as an individual
- Dependable and punctual
- Solid Works CAD experience is a plus
