The Residential Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake Geneva, WI. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities for custom homes, additions, and renovations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The role includes coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trade partners, managing schedules, monitoring job progress, and enforcing safety protocols on-site.
The Construction Manager will review plans and specifications, resolve construction issues, communicate regularly with clients and internal design teams, and maintain accurate documentation and project reports. This role also involves inspecting work for compliance with building codes and company standards, managing materials and equipment deliveries, and supporting continuous improvement in construction processes.
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership and coordination of subcontractors and trades.
- Candidates should possess budgeting skills and experience with project control to manage costs, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Candidates should possess construction and construction safety skills, with hands‑on knowledge of residential building practices and OSHA‑compliant safety procedures.
- Relevant experience in residential construction management, including custom homes, additions, and renovations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
- Proficiency with construction management software and basic office tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, scheduling software).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites in the region; previous experience in the Chicagoland or Southern Wisconsin markets is a plus.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
