As a Painter at Grand Geneva, you will perform work involving the skills of painting, refinishing, wallpapering and aesthetic maintenance.

What

will you be doing?
  • Maintain interior and exterior of building.
  • Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guests and associate requests.
  • Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool and remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scrapes, wire brushes and blowtorch, to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with putty plaster or other filler.
  • Select premixed paints or prepare paint to match specified colors by blending and mixing required proportions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances.
  • Paint surfaces using brush, spray gun, or paint roller.
  • Simulate wood grain, marble, brick or tile effects.
  • Create special effects by applying paint with cloth or canvas over floors and furniture to protect them from spattered paint.
  • May perform any or all of the following: cut stencils and stencil surfaces with lettering or decorations; paint signs on such surfaces as cloth, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained.
  • Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the role?
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Trade or vocational school graduate or one year's experience as a painter or 1 or 3 years as a painter’s helper is considered desirable.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 80lbs.
