HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician at Grand Geneva, you will maintain optimal hotel operations by promptly addressing guest and associate maintenance requests, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all building systems and equipment function efficiently.

What will you be doing?- Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
- Perform daily shift reports, documenting all calls in the engineer’s log, monitoring and closing out calls.
- Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures by wearing personal protective equipment when necessary and maintaining a safety‑oriented approach.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all furniture, fixtures, equipment, and guest room items across the interior and exterior of the hotel.
- Assist in cost control for heat, power, light, sewer, and water; provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:
- All building and FF&E
- HVAC – Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical equipment (motors, starters, pumps, fans, generators, chillers)
- Plumbing and drains
- Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
- Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or trade school degree, plus 1–2 years of hands‑on maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
- Strong technical skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities, able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Physical stamina for demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied weather conditions.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
