Summary:

The Janitorial Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas, restrooms, and back-of-house areas within the resort. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff. The Janitorial Attendant plays a vital role in upholding the resort’s high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Cleaning Duties
  • Clean and sanitize public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and entrance areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in public areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to resort policies.
  • Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring all supplies are replenished and facilities are spotless.
Maintenance And Upkeep
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
  • May have to perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Guest Interaction
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Provide assistance and information to guests as needed.
Inventory Management
  • Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies and restock janitorial closets as necessary.
  • Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
Safety And Compliance
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
Team Collaboration
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Support and train new janitorial staff as needed.
Qualifications Experience
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
Skills And Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
