An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Services RN Director to lead the Emergency Department of a 150-bed acute care hospital in beautiful Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
We are seeking a proven Emergency Department nursing leader who combines strong clinical expertise with an approachable, highly visible leadership style. The Emergency Department manages a diverse patient population ranging from high-acuity emergencies and trauma to environmental and recreational injuries, along with significant seasonal volume fluctuations associated with the area's tourism and outdoor lifestyle.
This position requires a decisive, clinically credible RN leader who understands Emergency Department operations and can successfully balance patient care, staff engagement, quality, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency

The Emergency Services RN Director is responsible for the overall strategic, clinical, and operational leadership of the Emergency Department.
This leader will oversee department operations while developing a high-performing team and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, evidence-based emergency care.
The Director will have responsibility for staffing, recruitment, employee development, performance management, patient experience, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, budgeting, equipment and supplies, and overall departmental performance.
Just as importantly, we're looking for a leader who will be present and accessible to the team and who understands the importance of maintaining a strong, supportive department culture.
Key Responsibilities Emergency Department Leadership- Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for Emergency Services.
- Maintain a strong presence within the department and build trusted relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and hospital leadership.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for clinical and operational performance.
- Promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient care.
- Lead the department effectively during high-acuity situations and periods of significant patient volume.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient flow, throughput, quality, and overall department efficiency.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical protocols and department operations.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop Emergency Department nursing staff.
- Oversee staffing and scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage based on patient volume and acuity.
- Manage employee performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Address employee relations and conflict management issues appropriately.
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and staff satisfaction.
- Oversee recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and staff development.
- Create opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
- Support student and clinical education activities within the department.
- Ensure payroll and staffing processes are managed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards for Emergency Department clinical care and patient safety.
- Ensure evidence-based clinical practices are consistently incorporated into department operations.
- Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, and department performance.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement appropriate action plans.
- Ensure staff competency and adherence to clinical standards.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Develop, monitor, and manage the Emergency Department budget.
