Hunter Hamilton is partnering with a global manufacturing leader to identify a Senior Cost Accounting Analyst for a high-impact opportunity supporting one of the organization's largest and most strategically important manufacturing operations. This on-site position in Lake Jackson, TX is a temporary-to-possible-hire opportunity offering $50-$55/hour based on experience

The role provides exceptional exposure to manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and SAP within a complex production environment while partnering closely with plant leadership, engineering teams, and business unit stakeholders to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and profitability. As a key member of the finance team, you will support manufacturing cost control and site accounting activities while providing critical financial insights to business leaders.
Responsibilities include:- Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Supporting inventory accounting and physical inventory observations
- Reviewing fixed assets and supporting capitalization and depreciation processes
- Developing management reports and providing ad hoc financial analysis
- Coordinating forecasts and supporting annual budgeting activities
- Maintaining and supporting standard cost methodologies and cost-setting processes
- Ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal controls
- Supporting internal and external audit activities
- Partnering with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify and quantify cost savings opportunities
- Tracking productivity initiatives and measuring financial impact
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, inventory accounting, and financial analysis
- Experience with month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls/SOX requirements
- ERP system experience required; SAP experience highly preferred
- CPA and/or CMA certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
