Job Summary /Basic Function

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as-needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.

Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.

Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

  • Reports to the Division Chair of Construction Trades, Computer Technology and Office Administration.
  • Teaches medical office classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods.

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Office Administration – Medical Specialization from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field.
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met.
  • Shows continued growth in teaching and through training.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management (Preferred), with relevant work experience in administrative support, medical office administration, as applicable with relevant work experience.
