CAD Drafter; Entry-level; Substation Design

Entry-Level Cad Drafter

We are seeking an Entry-Level CAD Drafter to support substation engineering and utility design projects. In this role, you will create and update technical drawings using AutoCAD and Micro Station while working closely with engineers and designers. Responsibilities:

• Create, revise, and maintain CAD drawings for substation and power delivery projects.
• Follow company drafting standards and design procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to complete assignments.
• Assist with substation layouts, equipment arrangements, conduit routing, and wiring details.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Organize and maintain project documentation and drawing files.
• Incorporate design updates and feedback into drawings.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field preferred.
• Basic experience with AutoCAD;
  Micro Station experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the engineering and utility design field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Revit, Civil 3D, or other 3D modeling software.
• Understanding of electrical utility or substation design concepts.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC/NESC).

Experience:

0-2 years of CAD drafting experience or relevant coursework/internship experience preferred.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
