Remit Tax Analyst

Work Setup: Hybrid (In office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)

As a Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in managing State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) programs, payroll tax compliance, tax reporting, and agency relations while helping minimize tax risk and ensure accurate filings.

As a Tax Analyst, you will:

• Manage State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) compliance, rate administration, remittances, and tax reporting activities.
• Analyze and resolve state agency correspondence related to fact-finding requests, account closures, and rate adjustments.
• Obtain and maintain current SUI rates from state agencies for January and July release cycles.
• Research and resolve outstanding protest rate balances, leveraging state amnesty programs to reduce penalties and future rate increases.
• Validate interunit and strategic employee transfers while ensuring compliance with state business qualification requirements.
• Generate and maintain People Soft upload files using automated reporting and ADP-provided rate information.
• Review SUI snapshots, identify discrepancies, and prepare recommendations for vendor discussions.
• Manage Joint Account and Voluntary Rate Contribution programs, evaluating potential savings and preparing executive-level summaries.
• Execute quarterly tax close activities, reconciliations, tax filing profile updates, and compliance reporting.
• Support year-end payroll tax processing, including wage base updates, rate changes, and checklist completion.
• Collaborate with payroll tax teams to improve procedures, controls, and compliance documentation.

• Bachelor s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in payroll tax, multistate tax compliance, or large-scale tax environments.
• Strong knowledge of State Unemployment Insurance (SUI), payroll tax regulations, and compliance processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
• Experience working independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong collaboration skills with Payroll, Tax, vendors, and government agencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace applications.

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification.
• Experience with ADP, People Soft HCM, Workday, or related payroll/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience utilizing AI tools and technology to improve research, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Self-motivated professional who can drive results across organizational boundaries.

• Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
• Occasional weekend work may be required during quarter-end and year-end tax processing periods.
