SENIOR CAD DESIGNER/ASSOCIATE MANAGER
West Yost is a water resource management and engineering firm dedicated to water solutions. This role is located in the Lake Oswego, Oregon office, with hybrid work (three days in office, two days remote).
CompensationSalary range: $80,205 - $110,520 (Lake Oswego office). Geographic salary differentials apply for other regions.

The CAD Designer II/Associate Manager is a key member of the engineering team, responsible for drafting and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public-sector clients. The role collaborates with civil engineers, project managers, and the CAD Manager to deliver high‑quality construction documents and to balance CAD workload. The position may require travel to other offices and client sites.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities- Develop 2‑D and 3‑D designs, drawings, plans, exhibits, and maps using Civil 3D.
- Complete construction drawings for water and wastewater projects involving underground and above‑ground utilities, including pipelines, pumping and booster stations, treatment plants, civil and mechanical equipment, and related structural, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Update, revise, and scale designs as necessary according to client feedback.
- Coordinate with internal teams to obtain design approvals and execution.
- Assist the CAD Manager in tracking tasks, balancing workload, and driving completion of CAD projects.
- Contribute to management of the CAD team, including onboarding and development of entry‑level staff.
- Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting or design.
- 10+ years of experience in CAD design within the A/E/C industry.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D, and other 3‑D modeling software.
- Familiarity with Revit, BIM concepts, and Micro Station is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience assisting a team in workload balancing and in managing entry‑level CAD staff.
- Effective communication skills with all project team members.
