Position: Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Hybrid - Wilsonville, OR)

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, presents an opportunity in the Design Quality Assurance group (DQA) for an experienced Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer. Hybrid work arrangement in Wilsonville, OR. Relocation assistance is available.

What You Will Do
  • Assure new developments meet customer, company, DO-178, and regulatory requirements as applicable.
  • Audit and assess engineering teams regarding compliance to Quality and regulatory requirements throughout the development lifecycle to ensure problem-free products are delivered.
  • Employ Quality-related tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Variation Reduction, Key Characteristics, etc., as appropriate.
  • Analyze project data for trends and systemic issues and recommend corrective action.
  • Assist transition to production to ensure D&D related quality issues are resolved, documented, and communicated to production.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate project process tailoring and approvals; ensure plans incorporate latest lessons learned.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with software development and the associated processes.
  • Experience in engineering development lifecycle(s).
We Prefer
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies (aerospace, pharma, medical devices, finance, healthcare, energy, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering development using ARP
    4754.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, manufacturing and the associated processes.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
