Job Summary & DescriptionEmpowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives.
As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support.
We are seeking an energetic and supportive provider for a fun, active child who loves the park, swimming, basketball, soccer, football, and just about any sport. He enjoys games, working with numbers, listening to music, and having dance parties. While he can be slow to open up at first, once he feels comfortable he becomes very trusting and engaging. He does best with clear communication and structured transitions so he knows what to expect next.
In the past, he experienced occasional outbursts, but he has matured greatly and these have become much less frequent. It is important for a provider to be mindful of his trauma history and approach him with patience and understanding.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN TRAUMA INFORMED MENTAL HEALTH CARE!
Schedule:
Sunday 1:30pm-6:30pm, Mon's-3pm-7ish (Start and end times may be a 30 min difference)

Qualifications & Requirements- Experience with the I/DD community is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check. Not all charges will warrant a disqualification.
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
- Must have your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance.
- Must be comfortable providing respectful support with personal care, including bathroom and hygiene.
- Starting pay ranges from $23–$25 per hour, depending on a variety of factors, including experience, certifications, and skills.
