Drive Innovation as our Next Data Engineer / Scientist (Predictive Analytics)!

Trimble is looking for a passionate problem‑solver to leverage data to drive meaningful business outcomes and contribute to the success of our data‑driven initiatives. You will design systems that improve customer retention for Sketch Up, turning complex datasets into actionable strategies that move the world forward.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy sophisticated ML models, such as XGBoost and logistic regression, to proactively identify and mitigate churn risk.
  • Translate complex model outputs into business‑friendly insights that drive targeted go‑to‑market retention strategies.
  • Engineer impactful features from raw customer data to develop advanced metrics for tracking global engagement and activity.
  • Architect automated processes and algorithms to cleanse and integrate massive datasets for high‑level customer segmentation and model training.
  • Optimize churn prediction performance using advanced metrics like AUC and lift to ensure maximum business impact.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of expertise in data science or engineering, specifically building and deploying predictive machine‑learning models.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and algorithm development.
  • Strong grasp of data engineering concepts including data lakes, ETL tools, and columnar formats.
  • Experience in statistical modeling for churn analysis, customer segmentation, and cohort analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Bonus: experience with demographic and firmographic data integration.
  • Bonus: familiarity with BI tools and cloud‑based data environments.
  • Bonus: advanced academic research in predictive analytics or related fields.
