Finishing Machine Operator
Are you detail-oriented with a knack for operating precision machinery? A locally owned and operated leader in the custom label and printing industry is looking for a Finishing Machine Operator to join their production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a company known for its specialized customization and commitment to quality.
About the Opportunity In this role, you will be the final line of defense for quality. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating commercial label inspector machines, ensuring that every custom design meets the high standards our client is known for. From slitting materials to precise widths to performing final visual inspections, your work ensures the customer receives a perfect product every time.
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (Depending on Experience) Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift (call for current availability)
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup:
Read job specifications to select correct cores and rewind methods for each unique project. - Precision Operation:
Operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into specified widths and observe the flow of material to detect irregular cutting. - Quality Control:
Conduct rigorous visual inspections for color accuracy, die-cut precision, perforations, and print quality. - Equipment Maintenance:
Safely remove or replace blades on inspection machines as needed. - Shipping Prep:
Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging finished goods to ensure they are ready for shipment.
Qualifications
- Experience:
At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment operating a machine (experience in printing or packaging is a major plus!). - Technical
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. - Math
Skills:
Strong basic math skills for measuring and calculating specifications. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
