Assists Lead Meat Cutter in the processing of all cuts of beef, lamb and pork products and is responsible for ordering and maintaining production schedule. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Position responsibilities include wrapping, weighing and pricing meat and seafood products according to department policy, working with Lead Meat Cutter to ensure all meat and seafood items are cut, trimmed, and processed in accordance to company standards, filling in and supporting cutting, ordering, inventory and other work as needed in the absence of the Lead Meat Cutter, supporting in the ordering of meat products according to anticipated sales and seasonal needs, maintaining professional vendor relationships, stocking, rotating and facing cases, maintaining awareness of industry trends, current ads, promotions, holidays and event, partnering with Lead Meat Cutter to assess and adjust production needs and implement production schedule based on business needs, maintaining excellent department conditions, receiving and unloading merchandise, assisting customers with product selection, demonstrating familiarity with products in department, adhering to department compliance with company organic standards, completing customer special orders thoroughly and providing follow-through as needed, maintaining accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards, following company procedures for processing invoices, transfers and credits, handling damaged and spoiled product according to company policy, maintaining the organization, rotation and cleanliness of back stock areas, and performing other tasks and duties as assigned.

Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience preferred. Knowledge of retail Meat and Seafood departments preferred, however butcher shop or meat fabrication industry experience acceptable. Prior meat cutting / fabrication experience required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Work occurs in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery, depending on location may have stairs or elevators, moderate noise level, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer, and depending on location, working outside in all temperatures.
