About the Position
Maintain and grow a route servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hood, emergency lighting, and pre‑engineered or engineered gas system customers. Inspect, service, repair, and install multiple suppression product lines according to safety requirements and manufacturer specifications. Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
Responsibilities- Inspect, service, repair, and install 2 or more suppression product lines (including emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre‑engineered and industrial systems) per safety requirements.
- Make recommendations based on manufacturer specifications and state/local codes.
- Identify deficiencies; quote, sell, and repair on‑site.
- Upsell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.
- Sell new accounts on the route using the same compliance criteria.
- Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
- Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalency (required).
- Mechanical or electronic experience (required).
- Valid motor vehicle license (required).
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work in restricted areas and maneuver ladders.
- High level of customer service and effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Previous experience in the Fire Protection industry (preferred).
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and dangerous goods (asset).
Hourly range: $29‑44 (rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; internal equity and market data).
