Lead Trailer Mechanic

Compensation Based on Experience.

An established trailer sales and service operation is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead day‑to‑day shop operations. This role is hands‑on and supervisory, responsible for overseeing technicians, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality repairs, and maintaining a safe and productive shop environment.

• $30 - $40 per hour based on experience
• Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Lead and supervise shop technicians and mechanics on daily repair and fabrication work
• Assign, prioritize, and track work orders to meet deadlines and productivity goals
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of trailers and related equipment
• Ensure all repairs and installations meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Coordinate parts ordering and inventory to support shop operations
• Communicate timelines and job status with internal teams and customers as needed
• Train, mentor, and support technicians to maintain strong performance and accountability
• Maintain accurate service documentation and shop records
• Enforce shop safety procedures and company policies

• 5+ years of experience in trailer repair, heavy equipment, or related mechanical environments
• Prior experience in a lead technician, foreman, or supervisory role preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with trailer systems including:
  • Brakes, axles, suspension, and structural components
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Electrical wiring and lighting systems
• Ability to manage people, workflow, and priorities in a fast‑paced shop
• Strong communication and organizational skills
