St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to applyfor the Full-Time Faculty position in English to begin Fall 2027for the  academic year. Experience teachingcomposition is especially desirable, as composition will constitutea significant portion of the selected candidate's teaching load.

Courses offered in multiple modalities, including online andin-person.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the effective use of technology to improve student learning outcomes.

Faculty responsibilities include participating in professional development and assessment activities, attending faculty and committee meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. Thisis an on‑site position requiring regular campus presence and availability to teach in person. The English faculty member reportsto the Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping,and compliance with legal and institutional obligations.

Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate.

• Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in one'sinstruction to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.
• Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upondisciplinary knowledge, skills, research, and applications todesign engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours at times ofday convenient for students.
• Providing meaningful feedback, and timely responses to students' work and questions.

• Perform ongoing student, program, and college assessment activities, including analysis of course assessments, evaluations,and data to engage in continuous improvement to enhance student success, retention, and completion.

• MA in English (including Literature and/or Creative Writing) or
• At least 18 hours of approved coursework in English (includingLiterature and/or Creative Writing)

• Experience teaching first- and second-year students in Composition 1 and 2, particularly those in community college,developmental, or secondary education settings.
• Experience using a Learning Management System (Canvas,Blackboard, etc.).
• Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are Quality Matters (QM) certified

Assistant Professor $66,178;

Associate Professor $72,753 - Rank will be assessed at the time ofhire based on years of experience and education based onpre-determined criteria.
