Job Summary

Position: LPN – Med Surg

Location:

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake St. Louis, Missouri

Schedule:

Full time, Night shift 7:00pm–7:30am, varying days with every 3rd weekend and holiday requirement. No on‑call requirement.

• Contribute to the assessment of patients and ensure their well‑being.
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan, including self‑care post‑discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow‑up care.
• Maintain a continuous state of alertness and perform duties safely.
• May perform point‑of‑care testing according to policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing.
• No experience required.

Requires constant use of speech; constant standing and walking; frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects 0‑25lbs; frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use; frequent use of vision, hearing, and smell; occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects 25‑50lbs; occasional patient moving; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping; occasional driving; rare crawling and running.

Required: State of Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
