Job Summary

This role manages activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s).

Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for the unit.
  • Conducts hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services for the unit.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services.
  • Monitors and adheres to the unit budget.
  • Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience: Two years as a registered nurse with progressive leadership responsibility, or one year registered nurse experience plus one year of leadership experience.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    State Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin;
    Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs.
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
    • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 feet) and to identify colors.
    • Frequent use of hearing to share information and alert to alarms or machinery noises.
    • Frequent keyboard use and data entry.
    • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping.
    • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs.
    • Rare climbing.
